Geneviève Chénard

Geneviève Chénard is a psychoeducator and entrepreneur. For almost three years, she has had a social services clinic in the Laurentians, Quebec, where she helps many families to regain control of their lives by meeting them in the environments where they live. She also collaborates with other professionals to support the skills development of all of her clients. During her studies, she was involved with the Inuit of Nunavik in the development of a family home. She also specializes in the development of parenting skills for families in child protection to help the development of children. She also teaches at the University of Montreal.
As an individual, Geneviève has been involved in various boards of directors of NPOs targeting, among other areas, families, young single mothers, young people and nature, the protection of the French language, the democratization of social science . She believes change requires empowerment and education. This is what she tries to embody in her daily social practice as well as in all of its implications.
Geneviève is a change agent and she is a fan of participative solutions to improve the living conditions of her target group, which is why photovoice is her favorite tool.
